We are now less than 2 months away from the HDB car park revision which will occur in Dec 2016.

Other private car park areas price will also goes up with the revision of HDB car park prices. It give these owners a perfect reason to rise the charges without infuriating the public. There are limited private car parks which are on the hourly rate of $1. Most private car parks minimum charges are at $1.20 and these may rise by another 10 or 20 cents.
There are no reason for car parks whose charges are at $1.40 to rise their price further.
HDB had reported that they spend a lot of money on maintenance matters. But they had failed to identified and resolved the drainage and grating issue at the W97 HDB car park.
Every time it rains, the drainage will overflow and take an amount of time to drain off the excess water through the drainage system.
I am not sure whether the HDB facility staffs perform an inspection on the above car park. The rise in car park charges must be justify by a rigid maintenance program. What do you think?
Desmond Lee had highlighted in the parliament that free parking on Sunday for HDB, URA and National Parks Board car parks had decreased.
More HDB car parks had been converted to NO FREE SUNDAY PARKING. I understand that some car parks had done so due to the high demand from the residents. But this is not the case every time which the authority had to justify with their actions.
There are some car parks with more than 40% free parking space on Sunday but was slated as a non free Sunday parking area. I would like to suggest the authority to offer free 2 hours at these car parks. This will allow visitors to have short term parking and visit their family members on a bright Sunday.
Aren’t the government promoting family relationship?
Red and White Combination(RWC) Car Park Lot has been in the news and also discussed by Net Citizens on the internet. These RWC are not available at all car parks but at certain car parks where short term parking is highly sought after.
RWC Car Park Lot allowed you to park at the lot during non Season Car Parking Hours. This is usually 7AM to 7PM but the rules for season parking hours for some car parks may be different. Please check up the parking sign board before you park your car at the RWC Lot.
HDB Customer Officers and HDB Car Park Offices are also not very clear about this special car park lots. Once you ask them about these RWC, they will still thought you are referring to the Red and White Parking Lot. I guess the HDB Staffs are not yet align to the rules. This worry me as I and other car users may be fine by the parking warden if they are unclear about the ruling and find us parking in the RWC lot.
