WhatsApp List Filter Feature Missing on iPhone?

Have you noticed that the new Chat Filter Lists (All, Unread, Groups, Contacts) in WhatsApp are missing from your app? You’re not the only one.

Despite updating WhatsApp and restarting your iPhone, the feature may still be unavailable — and there’s a reason why.

The Confusion: Broadcast Lists ≠ Chat Filters

In the screenshot below (from iPhone 12, latest WhatsApp version), you’ll see that the Broadcast Lists feature is available in Settings, but the new List Filters at the top of the Chats screen are missing:

Why Is the Feature Missing?

Staggered Rollout WhatsApp is slowly rolling out the List Filter feature across regions and user accounts. Even if your app is updated, it might not be activated for your profile yet. iOS Variability iPhone users, especially on older models like the iPhone 12, have reported inconsistencies. Some have the feature, others don’t — even on the same iOS version. Broadcast List Legacy If you still see Broadcast Lists in your settings, it likely means WhatsApp hasn’t yet switched your account to the new interface that includes Chat Filters.
