I can show u a method of solving two numbers multiply one another without the use of a calculator.

This will help you in your primary school maths assessment and test if you cannot use a calculator. It work best for the number in the range of 91 to 99.

If the numbers are below 90, it will start to get complicated. But it still can be done which I have shown my students.

Admiralty Primary School Sports Day 09

Admiralty Primary School has held a Sports Day Event on 7 August 2009 for all the students in celebration of the National Day. The event started at 0730am with a welcoming speech and singing the National Anthem. But the school organiser forgot to hook the flag for the flag raising ceremony. A small mistake and lucky there was no MP or Minister on visit.

It was a fun filled event where the children get to participate in the sports event. Parents also joined in the fun together with the teachers, staff and Parent Volunteer of the Schools. Students were happy winning medals and there are also sad students who lost the competition.

Happy National Day all Singaporeans and residents of Singapore.

Admiralty Primary School Phase 2C Vacancy

There are only 74 vacancies available for Phase 2C applications in Admiralty Primary School for Phase 2C. Excitment will rose again as demand exceeds supply. Last year, there was 138 vacancy and this year it drop to less than 100 available. The takeup rate for the earlier phase for siblings studying in the school, school volunteers, parents associated with school and others has already snapped up more than 200 positions.

It looks like only those who stay in 1KM have any chances of getting their child into this school. Ballot is expected to be held for parents stay in the 1KM region given that only less than 100 position is available. Many Parents has turn to do volunteering work at the school to ensure that their child has a chance to gain entry to that particular school. Admiralty Primary School is no different and has many parent volunteers. Therefore their child will qualify entry in Phase 2B and did not wait till Phase 2C.

I wish all Parents the best of luck if you are apply in Admiralty Primary School.

Lost of Textbook kept in Admiralty Primary School

My daughter has kept some of her textbooks in Admiralty primary School. This is to lighten her bag load but also created some problems. She lost her Health Education Textbook in May 2009. I inquire her Form Teacher, Ms Tan to check out the status of her textbook and she inform me she will check with the Health Education Teacher. We did not get any feedback and June Holidays was approaching and therefore everyone is in a Holiday Mood.

On her return to Admiralty Primary School after the Holiday Break, Amelia Friend found that her Health Education Text Book was in another classmate bag. She has finally got her text book back. I was wondering how come the teacher does not know that her text book was missing and or never bother to assist her in finding the text book. It is obvious to the teacher if a student does not have a text book in class. Furthermore, this is a text book been kept by the school. Therefore the Health Education teacher should be accountable for all text book under his/her care.

Primary 1 Students Stress

Children attending Primary 1 School has started to feel stress due to the amount of work load that they are receiving from schools and other external sources. I mention external sources which mean their tuition or any other activities like Mental Calculation, Music or others.

My daughter has to learn 10 spelling words every week plus the daily home work she got from the teachers. I personally tutor my daughter. I am also engaged by her classmates parents to do some freelance tuition for their kids. After going through with all the students, the work load they got maybe a bit heavier for their age.

If both parents are working, it will be more stress out for the kids as they will be attending Before/After School Care. Both the School and Before/After School Care will hand out home works to them, so which will they do since they have the same deadline. My advise them is to complete the School Work before doing the Before/After School Care Home Works.

The government announces that no more examinations for Primary 1 & 2 may help to lessen the stress our children is feeling. But parents must also do their part by not giving so much stress to them, bring them out for outings during weekends. Try not to cram too much external activities during the weekend and let them have 1 or 2 days off for relaxation.
