Forget to buy e-Day Licence for OPC Car

I have been purchasing the OPC e-Day Licences for the past 3 years. This time it actually slip my mind and after discovering it, two days have past.

I made an appeal to the Land Transport Authority straight away. This cannot be done through the call centre. It can be done by only emailing to feedback@lta.gov.sg or by clicking here>>>

You need to have a valid reason for not paying your e-Day Licence and write to the LTA Officer. Please include your personal and vehicle particulars such as full name, owner identification number, vehicle number, etc. LTA will respond to you and it will take about 1 to 2 weeks.

You will get a call from the LTA Officer and you will need to go to LTA Office at 10 Sin Ming Drive. A letter will be issue to you so that you can purchase the e-Day Licence that you have not bought on the day that you use the OPC Car. LTA responded to me 2 weeks later and I was able to purchase the e-Day Licence that I missed.

Please do not try to ignore the matter and wait until the offence letter comes. The offence letter normally will be sent out 1 or 2 months later. It is best that you are honest and LTA will be able to help you on a case by case basis. There are many cameras on our road network with the ability to read your car plate and the ERP Gantry that you passed through.

Starhub Cable TV Billing Issues

My Starhub Cable TV issues has started since November 2010 and the 1633 Customer Service was not of any good help. It looks like 1633 can only resolve many minor problems. I decided to go down to Starhub Customer Service Centre@Plaza Singapura.

The customer service staff consolidate all my bills from Nov 2010 to March 2011. He said he will waive off all the double charges and wrong service address add to my bill. The Stahub Customer Service Officer blame that the new billing system provision got some bugs.

But to tell you truthly, there were many customers with billing issues at the Plaza Singapura. Tempers flare at some point. Other staffs were call in to help to resolve the billing problems of customers as some customer service officers were not up to the arms.

Starhub has invested heavily on the SYSTEM itself but not on the PEOPLE"S. It need to revamp the customer service team with more full time staffs. Do not depend on part time or contract staff from job agency like Recurit Express. These part time staffs are paid $6 to $8 per hour. Pls improve the customer service before you lose the customers. The TIME will come when Singtel and Starhub can share CONTENTS.

Nexus One

The Nexus One’s over-the-air update to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread (erm, not Android 2.4) is starting to push out. But if you can’t wait (that’d be us), you can manually install the update. It’s the same thing as the OTA update, just, not OTA. Here’s how to install:

Owner of Nexus One, you do not need to wait for the OTA update. Beat the time by doing the manual update of your Nexus One to the Gingerbread Version.

Crayon Scratch on PCF Uniform

Both of my kids went through the PAP Community Foundation Kindergarten class. One of my youngest kid, Brian met with some problems in his K2 class at PCF Blk 652 Woodlands Ring Road. The class size is over 20 but the principal has elaborate that it met the MOE guideline of max 25 students to one teacher per class.

My wife feel that the teacher is unable to handle the class as a few issue has occur at the class. We now start to communicate with the kid to check what is happening. The latest issue is there is a naughty student who is using crayon to draw on other students shirt. But the teacher is not doing anything much about it. So my wife need to wash his clothes. I will bring the case to Ms Christina Lim should it occur again.

The PAP Community Foundation Convention theme is ‘Towards Excellence – Teaching, Caring, Inspiring’. In this blog post, I wished that the teachers will be more caring to my child. Bascially I do not hope him to come back with crayon marks on his shirt or explaining issue in the class. It is about learning and preparing for primary 1 class. PCF has to do a lot of catching up when compared with private kindergarten service providers in Singapore.
