Casinos

Marina Bay Sands Opening

Marina Bay Sands is officially open today at 1518HRS on 27 April 2010. This will be the second Casino after the Genting Casinos on Sentosa.

Casino Entrance Tax
This is applicable to Singapore Citizens and Singapore PRs only. It cos S$100 for the whole day(24 hours). You will only be allowed to stay in the Casino for 24 hours from the time you enter the Casino.
Payment can be made at AXS Stations and you need to enter the Casino within 30 days after making the payment. It is highly recommended you pay the Casino Entrance Tax before visiting the Casino.

Oversea Visitor just need to show their passport to gain free entry to the Casino. You must also be at least 21 years of age. Other terms and conditions may apply.

Getting there

Taxi
You can alight at the Casino four alighting Taxi Stands.

Buses
Service 97, 97e, 106, 133, 502 and 518 will bring you to the Casino directly.

Trains
Alight at Marina Station for the North South line and take buses or walk to the Casino.

Android Free and Paid Applications

Android Market has now more than 50,000 of applications and games to offer to its Android users. It is now currently the second best after Apple Application Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. More mobile manufacturers are also releasing Android Phones into the market at competitive prices.

Games that are available in the Apple Apps Store are most likely to be available in the Android Market. But most Android Users around the world will only be allowed to access the free apps. There are currently only 13 countries that are allowed to download the paid applications. More countries will be added in the future.
Singapore Android Users can only download the free apps and not the paid apps.

Visit the Android Market on your Android Phone, you can view thousand of apps and games available for your Android Phone. If you are not able to view the paid apps and games, it means your country is not in the list of paid apps yet. In the mean time, you can download the free apps and games on your Android Phone.

Building a Super Stove on CafeWorld

The Super Stove is a new stove that cuts out the preparation stages. You just choose your dish and then it begins cooking! No slicing, dicing or chopping. Your food will still need to cook for the required amount of time. Now you can build your own Super Stove! Visit this note for more information.

If your icon is gone, you have finished the stove. It will be with your other stoves under the Functional Menu (the "Gears") icon.

1. Click the Build a Super Stove icon next to the Spice icon.

2. From this panel you can see all the parts you need. You have the option to:
– Request help for different parts
– Buy individual parts
– Buy the whole stove

3. If you request parts, you will be brought to a page to ask friends for help. When you request parts from your friends, the parts will go directly into your stove.

4. When you complete the stove, you will see a pop-up saying you finished your stove.

5. Your Super Stove will now be available for use in the Edit Menu, under the “Gears” icon. You will see a (x1) next to the Super Stove, which means it is available for use.

The Super Stove is NOT in your Gift Box.

6. If you look in your stoves menu and see a gray box covering the stoves with a (x1) next to your Super Stove, this means you have all available stoves in use for your level. To use the Super Stove, open the edit menu by clicking the "Gears" icon. Just drag one of your stoves into your inventory (edit menu) and then you will be able to drag out your new Super Stove. (Remember: do not try to move a stove into your inventory with food cooking on top!)

You do NOT have to sell any stoves to use the Super Stove. You may store it in the Gears/Functional Menu for when you reach another level awarding stoves.

Safe Deposit Boxes available for rental also but must also be a DBS or POSB Customers. Price Range from S$125 to S$400 depending on size. The Safe Deposit Boxes are available at Bedok, Raffles Place, Bukit Timah,Rochor,Choa Chu Kang,Shenton Way*,Clementi, South Bridge*, Parkway Parade,Thomson,
Plaza Singapura, Towner Road and Queensway.

PPStream

Viewing PPStream Chinese Characters

PPStream allow users to watch thousands of movies and drama serials from Hongkong plus shows from many other places. Many of you will encounter unable to see the chinese characters on the software. You only get rubbish characters on it. You need to perform some settings on your computer in order to view the chinese characters on it.
This tutorial is based on Windows 7 but you can also find it on Windows XP and Windows Vista as it is available in the Control Panel.

Goto Start – Control Panel – Clock, Language and Region – Region and Language – Change Keyboards or other inputs method

Systemlocale

Click on the Change System Locale and change the language to Chinese (Simplified, PRC). Apply and then click on OK. Restart your system go back into PPStream and you should be able to view the chinese characters in the software.

What is system locale?
The system locale determines the default character set (letters, symbols, and numbers) and font used to enter and display information in programs that don't use Unicode. This allows non-Unicode programs to run on your computer using the specified language. You might need to change the default system locale when you install additional display languages on your computer. Selecting a different language for the system locale doesn't affect the language in menus and dialog boxes for Windows or other programs that do use Unicode.
